BISMARCK, ND–Nathan Anderson, the Director of the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources, announces the release of a Geological Survey report entitled “The 75th Anniversary of the Discovery of Oil in North Dakota” by Nathan Wilkens (Miscellaneous Series No. 96).

BISMARCK, ND – Select Water Solutions, LLC notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of a produced water spill at the Stateline SWD #1 site. The incident occurred on May 2, approximately 15 miles west of Williston, ND.

BISMARCK, ND – Kraken Operating, LLC notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of a produced water spill at the Krabseth 1 SWD site. The incident occurred on February 2, approximately 10 miles southwest of Alamo, ND.

BISMARCK, ND – McKenzie Energy Partners, LLC notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of a produced water spill at the Jellesed SWD 1 site. The incident occurred on January 25, approximately 6 miles east of Keene, ND.

BISMARCK, ND – Hunt Oil Company notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of a brine spill at the Shell 153-89-5-16H-1 well site in Mountrail County. The incident occurred on January 3, approx. 11 miles north of Parshall.

BISMARCK, ND – Select Water Solutions LLC notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of a tank battery explosion and fire at the Rink SWD 2 site in McKenzie County.

BISMARCK, ND – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of a valve leak at the CPEUSC 4A 20-158N-100W SWD, approximately 25 miles north of Williston, on December 24, 2025.

BISMARCK, ND – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of an electrical outage that led to tanks overflowing at the TRMU water plant, approximately 16 miles northeast of Medora, on November 20, 2025.
