Incident Reported in Dunn County
BISMARCK, ND – XTO Energy Inc. notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of a produced water spill at the Deep Creek Federal 44X-5A site. The incident occurred on October 12, 2026, in Dunn County, approximately 40 miles northwest of Killdeer, North Dakota.
XTO Energy Inc. reported that 594 barrels of produced water were released onto location. As of October 12, 2026, 594 barrels of produced water have been recovered.
A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
