Nathan D. Anderson
Director, Oil and Gas Division
Nathan is a native of Minot, North Dakota, and received a BS in Geology from North Dakota State University. Nathan has over 24 years of engineering, land, environmental, health, safety, asset development and operations experience in the oil & gas industry. In 2004, Nathan joined PDC Energy, leading and serving in varying roles of increasing responsibility and most recently as Senior Asset Director overseeing the company’s west Texas assets prior to the acquisition of Chevron. Nathan has worked on industry projects and assets throughout the United States including North Dakota, Texas, Wyoming, New Mexico, Michigan, Colorado, Kansas and Ohio. Nathan joined the team at Department of Mineral Resources in September of 2024.
Mark F. Bohrer
Assistant Director, Oil and Gas Division
Mark Bohrer has been with the NDIC Oil and Gas Division since April 1986. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Engineering and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from the University of North Dakota. Mark has been involved with the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program since 1991. Mark currently serves as Assistant Director of the Oil and Gas Division.
Edward C. Murphy
State Geologist
Edward C. Murphy has a B.S. in Geology and an M.S. in Geology from the University of North Dakota. He has worked as a geologist for the North Dakota Geological Survey and the Department of Mineral Resources for 43 years and 19 as State Geologist.
