Incident Reported in Renville County 

 

BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of crude oil and produced water release occurring Thursday, February 22 at the ROWE-STATE 1 well location, Sherwood, Renville County, North Dakota.  

 

COBRA OIL & GAS CORPORATION reported Thursday, February 22 that 280 barrels of produced water and 20 barrels of crude oil were released due to equipment failure/malfunction. Products were contained on-site and cleanup is underway. At the time of reporting 5 barrels of oil and 280 barrels of produced water had been recovered.

 

A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.

 

Federal and state laws require federal and/or state agencies be notified in the event of accidental spillage of any materials that may pollute water, air or soil.
