Incident Reported in McKenzie County- Jore

 

BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of an oil spill occurring Saturday, January 13 at the JORE (FEDERAL) 1-12H well, McKenzie County, North Dakota. The spill remained within the tank battery containment berm. 

White Butte Oil Operations, LLC reported on Saturday that 1026 bbls of produced water and 54 bbls of crude oil were released due to an equipment failure from freezing weather on location. At the time of reporting 1026 bbls of produced water and 54 bbls of crude oil had been recovered. 

A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor the clean-up and remediation.
