Incident Reported in Dunn County on March 31, 2026

BISMARCK, ND – Dakota Fluid Solutions, LLC notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of a brine spill at the Cougar 1 SWD site. The incident occurred on March 31, approximately 20 miles northwest of Killdeer, ND.

Dakota Fluid Solutions, LLC reported that 250 barrels of brine were released onto location. As of April 1, 2026, 151 barrels have been recovered.

A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
